Get out your black shirts and red ties! From channelling teenage angst into tunes about bodily fluids and boredom through to pointedly charged critiques of society and religion, Green Day have been bringing us their inimitable mix of huge guitars and catchy melodies for over 30 years.
And it’s time – on Sunday August 24th the GMCC gets together at the Barwon Club with 20 musicians to bring you 22 of their certified bangers from nostalgic 90’s hits through to their latest charge against conservatism (and a couple of deeper cuts thrown in for good measure).
$10 at the door all in support of mental health treatments, research and support – doors 6.30pm. See you there!

Stu’s Post Game
Wowser… that’s all I got!
Huge night, epic night, damn you all make this so worthwhile!!
The IEM’s are definitely a work in progress… but we’ll keep trialing and tweaking those – and in the meantime there’s always monitors
We’re still working on getting a long term partner, but thanks to you we’ve added another $940 to the kitty – when we get someone locked in we’ll be able to really hit the ground running with them.
That finale was one of those moments. Adam Christopher – usually your ideas make me look at you and wonder how you survived to adulthood. Getting the strings in is proof that every rule has an exception . That was phenomenal – thank you for organising that!
Daniel Melnik, Jesse Melnik, David Weir – thank you for driving and covering the sound ; Jake Schutz for getting the live stream happening, and as usual the BC and DPTB for their ongoing support.
Personal thanks also to Adam Zaffarese, Rah Rah Louie, Parso and Nathan Gallagher for indulging me on East Jesus Nowhere. Damn that felt good!
To everyone who played tonight – you were awesome.
To everyone who came along or watched the stream – you were awesome. Thank you all.
We’ve already got a fundraiser show lined up in October, and we’ve been asked to bring the Green Day show to Colac in December – if anyone wants in to do tonight all over again I’ll be posting more info up shortly. That one will be supporting Let’s Talk Colac.
We’ll work out if there space to fit in another this year and will definitely let you all know.
In the meantime, rest up champions – you’ve all earned it!

Raegan’s Super Wordy Tag Fest!
This might be a shorter version of Raegan’s Super Wordy Tag Fest and Thank You’s coz my ear is somewhere between blocked to Hell and a wax oozing cesspool right now. So no TD;LR for you!
This time I’d like to start with a blanket THANK YOOOOOOOU to EVERYONE for the support, encouragement, feedback and patience; I was definitely not sufficiently caffeinated and medicated but still managed to pull off a near bloody miracle
Stuart Caldwell in all seriousness, thanks so much for the encouragement at the end of the night; my chronically anxious (and temporarily hard of hearing) butt really needed it! And I listened to the audio and didn’t throw my phone at the sound of my own voice, that’s gotta be a win
Paul Meddings appreciate the hug, not so much the heart fail when you ran to stage….I did wake up though, haha
Rah Rah Louie thank you for helping with the IEM’s, Sunday just wasn’t going to happen. Thank you for being super patient with me xxxx
Tayla Meddings as always, it’s not a GMCC night without you making me laugh, swapping injury stories and inappropriate humour xoxo
Thomas Nunan thanks for the pep talk afterwards, I’m getting there! Very, very slowly, blahahaha
Jake Schutz the usual thanks for inviting me to the group, and a special mention for jumping on Longview; that was hilarious!
Annmaree Lydia DimitrievskiChristian Dimitrievski and Imogen O’Shannessy thanks for being my (and the group’s) biggest supporters, advertisers and photographers/videographers; always appreciated
I know I’ve forgotten people and I’m really super sorry, I’m currently 2 shakes from chopping my ear off entirely (if it doesn’t fall off first); much love and even more lopsided hugs
